The KDE desktop

In contrast to fedora core, this livecd uses kde as the default desktop

The GNOME desktop  Applications Network

Well, I`ve been a kde man ever since, but perhaops this will change ... :)

KDE: System Settings

The controls for system configuration have been splitt into several submenus based on the configuration task.

KDE: Internet Applications

This snapshot shows how applications are organized in the menu : similar apps are grouped together, with those most often used easiely reachable.

KDE: Security Applications

Some, but not all tools have a gui. So sometimes one forgets that they are aviable at all.
Therefore the 'special' applications that are pure terminal/console applications have menu entries that call them in a terminal window.
